This beloved tradition, dating back to 1979, challenges participants to grow resilience and essential problem-solving skills through hands-on projects.
Visitors also explored the museum’s latest feature, the Science Stadium, an interactive exhibit merging sports and science that opens this July.

Buffalo’s ties to American literary icon Mark Twain shine as the nation nears its 250th anniversary in 2026. Twain, born Samuel Clemens, authored classics like “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” and “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.”
His stay in Buffalo from 1869 to 1871 marked a turning point, as he married Olivia Langdon and began writing for the Buffalo Express. This period inspired Twain’s leap from journalism to legendary authorship, shaping the course of American literature.
Buffalo & Erie County Public Library honors Twain’s legacy, housing the complete handwritten “Huckleberry Finn” manuscript, donated by Twain himself. Treasures like the original mantel from his Buffalo home enrich the Mark Twain Room.
